- Bzzzt!
-
- The basic A1000 shipped with 256k RAM. The expansion slot on the front is
- for the 256k RAM expansion card, which doubles your total RAM to a
- whopping 512k! Additional RAM can be added via internal cards (i.e.,
- Insider), or by the expansion port on the right side. The A1000 I have
- sitting on the shelf has 3.5 MB, and a 90 MB external HD. Slow, but cool.
-
- Also, there is no Kickstart ROM in the original box. Upon power-up, you
- first insert the Kickstart floppy disk, and then there's a prompt to
- insert the Workbench floppy. Then you're up and running...well, walking.
-
- Of course, there have been a lot of hacks for the A1000. I'm sure someone
- out there has WB 3.1 and an '040 in it. I think Aminet even has some
- keyboard hacks. Enjoy.
